We love doing what we do, and we’d love for you to be a part of it! Here are some reasons why it would be sweet to have you in the group:

Ex!t improv was made to be done at Yale. Our unique brand of short form comedy is perfect for our audience. It’s awesome to be able to make a joke about Ender's Game or the New Deal or Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, and be met with roars of appreciative laughter. Many of us have done a lot of different types of improv, but we all agree that Ex!t’s style of improv is exactly what we want to be doing while we’re here.

We’ve got a dedicated following. We love to fill the house – you can’t beat the feeling you get when you run onstage to a room that's full to the brim with cheering people. And our afterparties are legendary. As a result, Ex!t’s a great way to connect with a really wide group of people on campus. It’s not uncommon for folks you’ve never met to come up and congratulate you on how you did in the last show – and to promise to see you at the next one.

We’re a group of really close friends who’ve come together through improv. The Ex!t players do all kinds of things at Yale, as a quick perusal of our chosen majors reveals. We’ve had people in the group who are theater studies gurus and people who are pre-med all the way, english majors and archaeology majors and everything in between…but the common thread of our lives at school is how much we love doing improv with each other. Don’t get us wrong – we’re friends outside of Ex!t, too, collaborating on projects, hanging out on weekends, supporting each other’s other extracurriculars...That said, improv is more than just a way of connecting with our audiences – it’s a way of connecting with each other.

We’re committed, but it’s because we want to be. Ex!t is a serious time commitment, but it by no means takes over your life or excludes you from other activities. Plus, Ex!t’s twice-a-week rehearsals are always a hilariously good time and a much-appreciated getaway for your brain. What better way to take your mind off of what’s stressing you out than a chance to make up funny stuff with your friends? Also, we’ve got a series of Ex!t-subsidized dinners and events that happen all throughout the year – traditions which help bring us even closer as a group.

We travel and perform all over the place on Ex!t’s dime. Ex!t’s two tours are among the most exciting and awesome things any of us do all year. There’s nothing quite as fun as doing improv with people you like in some of the coolest places in the world. We plan our tours to maximize adventure and minimize our costs, making for an awesome vacation that’s as free as can be. Just check out some of our photos if you need convincing.
