Improvise with Us!

The Exit Players might be based at Yale, but we love bringing improv to audiences all around the country! We go on two tours a year (one in early January and another mid-March) where we spend a week in a new city performing and teaching improv at schools, theaters, youth centers, and anywhere improvisers or fans gather. If you're based in the Northeast, or in a place where we're touring this year, we'd love to hear from you! See below for examples of what we do and places we've been, and get in touch with us if you're interested in us coming to your school or workplace.

We do long form and experimental improv. We have about eight on-campus shows per year, in addition to off-campus collaborations with other groups. We follow established forms, including the Harold, Armando, and Close Quarters, and we are always looking to try out new fun styles.

As an experimental improv group, we are open to new show ideas! In the past, we have worked with the Yale University Art Gallery to perform improv inspired by the artwork in the museum, as well as the Yale Club of New Haven to teach children about historical figures in the Grove Street Cemetery.

The Exit Players has collabored with various organizations to host workshops focused on improvisional skills, storytelling, and corporate team building.

We're open to various types of workshops, and we can meet your needs. We tailor our workshops to any experience level, from complete beginner to advanced maker-upper. Please reach out to learn more about bringing our improv to your school or workplace!

The Exit Players go on two tours of different locations around the world each year, once in the winter and once in the spring. On tours, the group performs shows and holds interactive workshops at a variety of venues, lasting anywhere from twenty minutes to four hours. Past tour locations include London, Jamaica, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Montreal, and Washington, D.C..

I've seen improv shows with some of the best groups in New York, and you guys were just as good as any of them. BEN KARLIN, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, THE DAILY SHOW

The Exit Players have a kind of frenetic, freewheeling wit; you have to listen fast with these Exit Players, or you'll wind up unhappy to have missed what everyone else is laughing at. ANDY SPEAR, DRAMA HEAD, HEAD-ROYCE SCHOOL, OAKLAND, CA

You provided our students with a wonderful day. Your creative spirit, positive energy, and kind hearts truly enhance your teaching skills! M.A. HASKIN, DRAMA DEPARTMENT CHAIR, THE MASTERS SCHOOL, DOBBS FERRY, NY

You inspired the kids to continue with the improv the rest of the night. They played games until 11:30 when I finally kicked them out. We close at 11:00! JEN ROMANOFF, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AMITY TEEN CENTER, NEW HAVEN, CT
