The Ex!t Players

The Ex!t Players are Yale’s oldest improv comedy group, a distinction we earned when we were founded before any of Yale’s other improv comedy groups.

Since 1984 we’ve been delighting audiences and innocent bystanders alike with our smart, fast-paced style of short form improv. Each year, we do ten on-campus shows and go on two tours, bringing Exit comedy all over the country and the world, to places like London, Jamaica, San Francisco, Montreal, and the greater Phoenix area (!)—leaving sore abdominal muscles and broken hearts in our disaster-ridden wake.

And do the laughs stop for Exit Players after graduation? Of course not! Well, probably sometimes. But not in a lot of notable cases! Our alums include Emmy winners Allison Silverman '94 (executive producer of The Colbert Report, producer on The Daily Show, writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien) and Ted Cohen '90 and Andrew Reich '90 (executive producers of Friends), screenwriter Stu Blumberg '91(The Girl Next Door, Keeping The Faith) and actor Matt Winston '92 (John From Cincinatti).

And it's not only alums who do cool stuff in the real world. Some of us have interned at The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, written for The Onion, and taken classes with the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York and the Groundlings in LA.

But enough about us. See our recruitment show, sharpen your skills at one of our workshops, and then come to one of our fun, low-pressure auditions. Who knows - you might be the next person to visit greater Phoenix.

"I've seen improv shows with some of the best groups in New York,
and you guys were just as good as any of them."
